Caring for Elderly Parents

Caring for elderly parents can put emotional and physical strain on a family. It can also be very difficult to approach the subject of full-time care with an elderly parent, particularly if they value their independence. At Agincare, we provide an alternative to residential care with a live in care service that allows your elderly parents to maintain their dignity, their independence and stay in their own home. It also gives you the peace of mind that when you’re not around there’s someone you can rely on to take care of your relatives.

Supporting the family unit

For children of elderly parents caring for their needs can be difficult, particularly if you have a family of your own to support and a full time job. It can be a concern that you’re not ‘there’ for your parents all the time, so we aim to take the worry out of caring for elderly parents. Our highly trained and experienced carers are there to help with the daily life of your elderly relatives, from cleaning and household chores through to going shopping with them and providing some much-needed companionship.

If your parent has more complex needs, we work closely with both Primary Care Trusts and social services to ensure that your elderly relative gets a complete support network of carers, 24 hours a day.

Respite care

If you are caring for elderly parents yourself you may not need a permanent live in support service. We at Agincare also provide short-term respite care that can be with you within 72 hours of an initial assessment. So if you have a holiday booked but are worried about leaving an elderly relative alone, we can step in and fill the gap until you get home. All of our care workers are highly trained and experienced in providing quality care, and are vetted against the Criminal Records Bureau and the Protection of Vulnerable Adults (POVA) register, so you know you can rely on them to take care of your elderly parents.
