Agincare provides quality support to a wide range of people with many different
dependency levels and needs,at home, at college or in the workplace. The needs can
include physical disabilities, learning difficulties, chronic or terminal illnesses or mental
health problems.
Typically support is provided in the following:
Nursing tasks are not provided, though can be arranged for you and many people we support have high levels of dependency that require co-ordination with our colleagues across the health and social care sector.
Assistance can include:
Respite care and support Sometimes people need full-time support temporarily to recuperate after an operation or an illness. Sometimes parents or partners provide the primary support but if they are ill or want a break away then temporary support is needed – we provide a service for these eventualities. Rapid response care and support Occasionally emergency situations arise, perhaps you already have a support worker but they are ill or go on holiday in which case we can arrange temporary support at short notice. Two full time support workers will usually work on a rota basis and live-in with you at home or in your halls of residence. One of our assessors draws up a personal support plan with you which describes exactly what you want the support worker to do for you. You also give a picture of what you like doing so we can introduce support workers to you that we think you’ll get on with. If we get it wrong, just say, and we’ll find someone more suitable. Your support worker will usually be active when you are and sleep when you do. S/he is entitled to a 2hr daily break which s/he’ll fit round your schedule.

Some people who use our service need an active day and night service because they have requirements through the night such as needing assistance to turn in bed. In these circumstance two support workers live-in, one mainly active during the day and the other mainly active at night to provide an active 24 hour service. needed – we provide a service for these eventualities.
