LIVE-IN CARE FROM AGINCARE IS A CQC REGULATED SERVICE

Not all Live-in Care providers are regulated by the CQC. Typically, introductory agencies offering self employed Live-in Care do not need to be regulated. However, the service that you receive from Agincare is fully regulated by The Care Quality Commission (CQC) and we welcome and comply with the registration, inspection and auditing process that regulation brings. We firmly believe that this commitment to transparency and quality can only drive the best possible experience for the families that we support and care for.

If the provider is not regulated by CQC, ask yourself, who is going to guarantee the quality of my service? Consider if you are prepared to accept the potential risks associated with employing a live in Care Worker direct, or if you would prefer the reassurance of a fully managed service.

What is Care Quality Commission (CQC)

The CQC is the independent regulator of health and social care in England. They make sure health and social care services provide people with safe, effective, compassionate, high-quality care and we encourage care services to improve. They monitor, inspect and regulate services to make sure care providers meet fundamental standards of quality and safety and they publish what they find, including performance ratings to help people choose care.

Benefits of a regulated service

Regulation ensures the service meets fundamental standards that people have a right to expect whenever they receive care. The service is monitored and inspected to make sure that we continue to meet CQC standards. CQC ensure the rights of vulnerable people are protected, including those whose rights are restricted under the Mental Health Act. Making fair and authoritative judgements, supported by the best information and evidence. CQC are able to take appropriate action if care services are failing to meet fundamental standards of quality and safety. CQC carry out in-depth investigations to look at care across the system. CQC report on the quality of care services, publishing clear and comprehensive information, including performance ratings to help people choose care.

CQC Key lines of enquiry

Are they safe? Are you protected from abuse and avoidable harm. Are they effective? Is your care, treatment and support achieves good outcomes, helps you to maintain quality of life and is based on the best available evidence. Are they caring? Do staff involve and treat you with compassion, kindness, dignity and respect. Are they responsive to people's needs? Are the services organised so that they meet your needs. Are they well-led? Is the leadership, management and governance of the organisation providing high-quality care that's based around your individual needs, that it encourages learning and innovation, and that it promotes an open and fair culture.

Our Advice

Our impartial advice is to read the CQC report of any agency that you are considering and then speak with someone about your requirements. If the provider is not regulated by CQC, ask yourself, who is going to guarantee the quality of my service? Consider if you are prepared to accept the potential risks associated with employing a live in Care Worker direct, or if you would prefer the reassurance of a fully managed service..
